Let's see... twelve centuries in total for mankind on Erna, and Gerald came around sometime in the 300s After Landing. They sent two expeditions to the Eastern Continent (the far eastern one) in Gerald's time already, so we know they tried to settle that one then already. But I'm not sure they really had the numbers in the early centuries to settle all continents.
