I really don't believe that would cut off the connection. We saw no indication that the Canopy would cut such a connection off.
For all the questions that Gerald put forth, they really didn't spend much time answering them.... Grrr. One of his questions was whither having her attacker accross the canopy would 'free her' of what was done.
But as there were few days where her attacker was under the canopy before she was, and because she didn't recover, I'm going to vote for the 'Canopy doesn't block such connections'.
