So the khrast would all come from a few families, and I presume those would stay among themselves to some extent, which then recreates the system in the next generation.
Still - Hesseth says there are seven khrast among this tribe, if I'm not mistaken? That seems a little low for "several families", especially since these khrast all seem to be in comfortable adult age. Do they choose the talented kids at some point and stop the education of the others? I assume there must be checks and balances in place to make sure nobody unsuitable ends up in the human lands and wreaks havoc.
