Erna RPG ?

I'm doing my yearly re-reading of the Cold fire books and, much as I love the characters and thematics of the book (and I'd forgotten how much I loved Jenseny ♥), as usual what I love the most is the world bulding and the sheer possibilities of the magic system. And, damnit, I want to play in that world.

So, hypothetically speaking, if I were to propose an online roleplaying game taking place on Erna, which would not focus on playing characters like many fanfic-based fandom do but on playing original characters in adventure stories, would some of you guys be interested to play ?

This is provided I can find / tinker a game system adequately to fit the world (not that it would be rules heavy anyway)

Do anybody has suggestions or ideas about it ?

I'm just starting to think about it, so this is more about throwing ideas in the wind and see if anything lands :)

I'd definitely be interested. Depending on the style of RPG, I might be quite clueless, but hey, there's not much that is impossible to learn... What kind of game system were you thinking about?

I must confess I thought about that possibility also. The world of Erna just screams to be used for an RPG. About the rules I think one could take a very adaptable system like d100 cthuthlu or d20 D&D or a system that's already fit for a tech/magic fantasy world like starwars or fading suns. Of course all his with much lighter rules, anyway.^^
And, well, of course I'd be interested ^_^

It's a possibility I'll remain very much open to. *eg*

Would love to be involved, but it would be a problem with my present timetable *pouts* :(

I'd definitely be interested in playing. Now I have an excuse to fit time into my schedule to re-read the series. :)

I'll think about the gaming stuff and get back to you. Keep this comm. updated.

I would DEFINITELY be interested in playing. Count me in. I wish I could help with the game system.

I would absolutly love to play in a game based on this particular series. I know the D20 system decently well but if someone was willing to walk me through the basics of another system I would learn that as well.

Keep me informed if you decide to start something.

D20? Eh, might work. But if you want really flexible magic rules, you want Mage: the Ascension*. White Wolf Game Studio, uses D10s. You set a difficulty (6 is the average) and each die that rolls above that counts as a "success." The more you get, the better you do something.

There's a bunch of padding because it comes with a modern-day setting included, but it's really easy to just gut all that and dump the mechanics into anything you want. And the mechanics are really, really easy to learn. Hell, I could probably type up most of what you need to know.

* Not Mage: the Awakening, which is by the same company.
