Slightly belated, I'm afraid...

15-year-old Almea is an interesting glimpse. And she sure made an interesting birthday acquaintance there. I like her tongue-in-cheek thoughts, they really fit her.

Gerald as a father is something I've always imagined as rather strange, exactly for the reasons here. He's just... not quite complying to the way things should go. Almea must have been a very patient woman.

he'd probably have replied that he didn't care too much as long as it didn't involve any life-threatening situations, or crises of faith, or undead sorcerers, or a combination thereof.

*snickers*

I loved the bit with the wine glass in the last segment. Very poignant.
