I'd like it to be known that I officially blame [livejournal.com profile] alighiera for this^_^ Bad influence that she is. This is the epilogue to my as-yet-unfinished longer fic, but it's not necessary for you to have read that. Let me know what you think of the fic. It's my first attempt at the Coldfire world so it may not be as good as I'd like.

I was hoping the fic you mentioned would turn out to be Coldfire, but I wasn't sure. So that squee of delight you might have heard this morning was me. :-)

Aside from that little problem, Damien had promised himself to make the man smile. A real smile. Even if it killed the irritating bastard.

Never one to shy away from the difficult tasks, our dear Damien.

I'll have to keep being a bad influence on you if this is the outcome! (Especially since I'm dying of curiosity now to see the longer fic...)

It's good to know that Damien is still a little baffles by Gerald. *lol* And that old habits die hard. But then again, Gerald has teh tendency to be like that - evolving and yet remaining very much the same.

Lovely ficlet! I'll delay the posting of my own pathetic drabble in order not to rob you of your well-deserved glory.

LJ is having some problems with sending notifications, due to them moving their database to San Francisco.

I'm currently writing mine. It might be quite AU, and it's a lonely plot bunny so it won't be in any way connected to any other stories. I am also looking forward to more Coldfire from you.

This line really captures them for me:

The tone was an appropriate shade of haughty reprimand. It made Vryce feel better and for that he must surely be mad.

It's proof that Gerald is still Gerald and Damien is still Damien, and what more do we want? Also, I love that ending a war is a "little problem" to Damien, compared to the task of making Gerald smile.

I'm very much looking forward to your longer story now.
