Coldfire surprise..?

So, I've been looking through the last few (many) posts, and have seen no mention of this. Please accept my apologies if this is old news...

Over at C.S. Friedman's official homepage, in the News section, it says that a Coldfire surprise will be announced there in December. No novel, sadly, but supposedly cool anyway...

Okay. What is it? Why do I have to wait 'til December to know?

That announcement has up there since around November 2008, and it does not mention the year... It might be the graphic novel there have been rumours of, but your guess is as good as ours.

I feel cheated now. And slightly stupid. :p (And yet oddly excited. One day, one December, one year... )

There's an interview where she mentions something which I understood to be a short stories in an older entry. Might be the same thing.

Oh, I would much prefer that to a graphic novel. Not that I don't love graphic novels, I just love new material more

Best of all would be a live action series of course (c'mon, if they an make an Song of Ice and Fire series... ), but that's unlikely. And Duncan Regehr is too old anyway. *wistful*

You know, I would love a good animated adaptation to death. Probably more than a liveaction one.

I would probably prefer a well-made live action series over a well-made animated one. However, so many things can go wrong with live action, and as I said... with my preferred Gerald Tarrant actor (I was skeptical at first, but eventually, he won me over with his portrayal of Zorro, of all things... ) too old for the part, I think an animated series might actually be a better idea.

So, how do we make that happen? :p

Well it's probably because I love animation in general, and that I think Gerald would look great as Bishounen, and that the horror/dreamy atmosphere of Fae would work better in animation.

Yeah, I was actually thinking of becoming a billionaire just next week. Of course, with this home exam I'm currently not writing ('cause I'm writing fangirlish posts instead... ) I might be too busy. :(

And I agree that Gerald would be an awesome bishounen. Not to mention that anime often is rife with explicit or implicit shonen-ai and yaoi...

It was mentioned in this interview (http://fantasyhotlist.blogspot.com/2009/02/new-c-s-friedman-interview.html): as well as a LITTLE Coldfire surprise for my fans...yes, there is a short story coming, though "when" and "where" are questions yet to be decided.

So, it's probably that short story, but who knows when.

Whatever is (and I agree, it's most likely the long-promised short story), I hope it actually does arrive this December. *g*
