This is not the fic I was asking for beta advice on. This is what happened before that, just after the series ended. It's my first published Coldfire fic.

Lovely. Just lovely. I can't seem to think of more coherent words^_^ And I wonder if there's something wrong with me but I enjoyed their fights and banter even more than the sex scene. Not that the sex was bad, but somehow it's easier to imagine them fighting even after they've said the world 2-3 times.

The point about the uses of the fae was a good one and a really creative approach to solving it. Kudos for the great solution, it didn't cross my mind at all. I deal with it in a different way in my story.

Anyways, this is a great first effort by you. Looking forward to more^_~

It's not your writing^^ I think it's just me and my tastes in fiction. Sometimes sex isn't that necessary, even in a slash fic.

Don't take that as a criticism against you. I'm just explaining my point of view^_^

I really liked your story and your idea concerning Healing and wards is interesting and original. It will be the hell of a task to persuade rakh to help humans, but when such things stopped the Terrible Twosome? Have you read C. S. Friedman comment on wards at www.merentha.org:
“Those of my devoted fans who want a sequel (but aren't going to get one :-) ) may wish to note that following the Patriarch's sacrifice, the value of existing wards skyrockets (as no more can ever be made), especially the all-important quake-wards; in the decades following the Second Sacrifice, riots erupt over ownership of these precious items, ward-related theft and violence escalates, and some blame the chaos of the second Dark Ages.....whoops, am I giving too much away? - CSF]”?

That comment was what inspired me. It's definitely something Gerald would think about, especially since he's such a Revival die-hard, ergo hates the first Dark Ages. The healing was a logical conclusion, especially once that point had been driven home by Damien's wound. Gerald was probably also thinking of his own heart problems and the role they played in his downfall...

The only other possibility for Working and providing wards would be the Iezu in this case, I think - and Gerald would probably want to leave convincing them to cooperate and perhaps help him talk to their Mother for an encore ;) Only so much world-changing per year, after all. Plus, he had some aces up his sleeve concerning the Rakh: I'll be going into it in a bit more detail in Family Ties, which is set in the same timeline.
